Our business consulting philosophy is grounded in a few fundamental principles. These principles are not new; and while most are common sense, they often seem radical in today’s business climate. Yet, over the years, successful organizations have always been guided by the following fundamental principles.
Our consulting philosophy is as follows:
- Success is led from the top. Senior management must be visible and involved.
- Directive, autocratic leadership styles must yield to allow employee participation in increasingly significant aspects of the business.
- Employees are a company’s greatest asset. They must be respected, developed, empowered, and rewarded.
- Solid partnerships with suppliers must be forged. Their success is critical to our success.
- Customer satisfaction must be the driving force behind everything we do. We must abandon using the bottom-line as the sole indicator of success (and stop basing managerial rewards on this alone).
- A few key measurements must be used to manage the business. What gets measured gets attention and gets improved.
- Continuous improvement is the goal. We must continually invest in the future. Shortsighted cost-cutting exercises that harm employees and customers destroy the soul of an organization.
- Leaders juggle many balls; but only three are crystal: Employees, Customers, and Shareholders. Never drop these. Satisfied Employees lead to satisfied Customers, and thus to satisfied Shareholders.
- An organization’s culture evolves over time, becoming a self-sustaining, driving force. Nurture it carefully.
Each of the above principles can be applied in myriad ways. As a leader it is your role to maintain and to transform an organization; but even the best need a little help. Our role as performance consultants takes many forms: expert advisor, facilitator, personal coach, or an extra pair-of-hands. Our desire is to see you and your organization succeed.

“I personally enjoyed and benefited from working with Dan on what turned out to be a lengthy and massive project. I learned a great deal from his strong facilitation and organizational skills, and I definitely have felt a sense of loss since the project came to conclusion. On the other hand, his work continues to live on through the knowledge and tools gained for the benefit of staff representing a large part of our program. It seems to me that staff recognition of the project’s achievements, is perhaps, the highest indicator of success.”
